Allegheny County Must Adopt Pro-Voter Agenda for Election Planning

PITTSBURGH — A coalition of Pennsylvania organizations are urging Allegheny County election officials to adopt pro-voter principles in their planning for the upcoming November elections, as well as future elections. In order to protect the freedom to vote and prevent barriers to the ballot, the organizations are urging the county to take measures that include ensuring the availability of voting options and voter education materials.

Report: Pennsylvania Jails Fail to Protect the Right to Vote

PHILADELPHIA — All Voting is Local, the Committee of Seventy, and Common Cause Pennsylvania released today “Ballots for All: Holding Pennsylvania County Jails Accountable for Providing Ballot Access,” a report revealing that county jails do not have a universal process for voter registration, voting by mail, or voter education—effectively disenfranchising eligible voters in jail throughout the state.

Nevada Secretary of State, Local Election Officials Must Remove Voter Registration Barriers for Native Americans

LAS VEGAS — All Voting is Local Nevada and the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada today released a brief comparing the high turnout rates of Native American voters in last year’s election with their low voter registration rates. The organizations urged state and local election officials to take action to remove barriers to voter registration.
