Our Democracy Only Works When Everyone Can Participate

Voting is a fundamental right, but since 2013, when five justices of the U.S. Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County v. Holder, federal, state and local officials have restricted the right to vote with unchecked impunity.

We must have full protections against racial discrimination in our voting system at the state, local and federal levels. Our work supports efforts to restore these protections to build a truly representative 21st century democracy for all people.
