This much is clear: Ohioans need more options to cast their ballots.
Enter secure ballot dropoff locations. By potentially decreasing the number of people who might vote in person, widespread access to ballot dropoff locations will aid in a smoother — and safer — voting experience for voters and poll workers alike.
Yet Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose is blocking access. He not only refuses to expand the use of ballot drop boxes, he’s gone so far as banning the county boards of elections from offering more than one dropoff collection site in each Ohio county. He says he doesn’t have the authority to make these pivotal changes to ensure voters can vote safely from their homes. This is untrue and unacceptable.
