MILWAUKEE —In response to partisan-backed attorney and former Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman’s release of a sham ballot review “report” on the 2020 general election in Wisconsin to the Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections, All Voting is Local Wisconsin State Director Shauntay Nelson issued the following statement:

“The 2020 election was free, fair, and accurate, and this sham ‘report’ is the latest chapter of the never-ending extreme efforts to subvert the democratic process, including passing legislation based on this scam, as we’ve witnessed in this state just these last few weeks. Gableman’s so-called ‘report’ on ‘findings’ has a clear goal: to use disinformation campaigns to undermine free and fair elections, sow distrust, depress turnout, and take power. The bogus/phony review conducted by Gableman has been partisan and divisive from the beginning, and there’s been a consistent lack of credibility and transparency every step of that way.

“One of the core attempts of Gableman and his supporters is the effort to silence Black and Brown voters in Wisconsin by targeting these communities specifically during this sham review and spreading misinformation about how their elections were conducted.”
