Kristen Hernandez leads the messaging and media strategy for the organization’s eight state-based programs.

Most recently, Kristen was vice president of communications at Voto Latino, where she helped guide efforts to empower and educate Latinx voters. Before that, she was deputy director of campaign communications at EMILY’s List, advising Democratic pro-choice women candidates and their campaign teams on communications strategy. She has also worked at the public affairs and political media firms SKDKnickerbocker and GMMB.

Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree in public policy from the University of Southern California and her master’s degree in communications from Georgetown University. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Kristen spent nearly a decade in Washington, D.C., before moving to the Bay Area of California, where she currently lives with her fiancé and their mini goldendoodle.
