Carson City, NV — Today, the Nevada Legislature overwhelmingly approved AB 367, a bill that would improve language accessibility in Nevada’s elections by expanding translation and interpretation services and requiring all election communications from the state to be in English and Spanish. The bill now heads to Governor Lombardo’s desk. In response, Chanel Cassanello-Moran, All Voting Is Local’s Nevada campaign manager, released the following statement:

“Nevada is the third most diverse state in the nation, with nearly 30% of residents speaking a language other than English, and 43 languages spoken in Clark County alone. AB 367 is a bipartisan, commonsense bill that takes several steps to boost voter participation for all residents, from funding interpretation services for voters to requiring all statewide election communications to be in English and Spanish. We applaud the Legislature for passing this landmark bill and urge Governor Lombardo to sign it into law.”
