Washington, D.C. – Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court ruled on Friday that it violates the state constitution to reject a mail-in ballot that is missing or improperly cites a date. In response, All Voting is Local’s Executive Director Hannah Fried issued the following statement:

“The Commonwealth Court’s decision is a victory for voters in Pennsylvania. It provides important peace of mind to Pennsylvanians that their votes will not be tossed out because of an unintentional mistake. Vote-by-mail continues to be a safe, secure, and accessible way for voters in the Commonwealth – and across the country – to cast their ballots, and the Court’s decision affirms its importance in ensuring Americans are able to fulfill their fundamental democratic right to vote. It is essential that future court rulings uphold this decision.”
