Wisconsin Examiner: The fight to make voting easier in Wisconsin

The ACLU and a group called All Voting Is Local are working to make sure the 12,500 Wisconsin voters who are in jail have access to the ballot. They and the Center for Secure and Modern Elections, Disability Rights Wisconsin, and the Voting Rights Lab are also working to expand voting rights here in other areas.

Wisconsin Governor Evers Must Enforce His Executive Order to Expand Access to Photo ID

MILWAUKEE-All Voting is Local Wisconsin and 28 voting rights groups called on Gov. Tony Evers to enforce his own Executive Order and compel the state’s Department of Transportation (DOT) to expand access to photo ID by increasing locations and hours where voters can obtain the identification necessary to cast a ballot. The groups noted that Wisconsin has one of the most restrictive voter ID laws in the nation which creates needless and discriminatory barriers to the ballot.

The Skanner News: Civil Rights Organizations Release Troubling Findings of Wisconsin Voter Turnout in April 2020 Primary

The analysis, “COVID-19 Silence Voters of Color in Wisconsin,” was conducted by data experts from Demos and All Voting Is Local, a project of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. Reviewing voter data from last month’s Wisconsin primary, the groups found significant gaps in voter participation across the state – exposing existing flaws in our election system and the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black and brown voters who already face significant structural barriers at the ballot box.
