In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ohio Legislature passed a bill in March to extend the primary election to April 28. But the nearly the entire election will take place by mail.

This is a huge change for Ohioans and threatens to disenfranchise voters who aren’t aware of the new procedures or have never voted by mail before.

We’ve produced this video to explain how Ohioans can request a ballot, ensure its complete and postmarked by the April 27 deadline.

This is the latest in a series of videos to help voters cast a ballot that counts. The latest walks voters through Ohio’s new remote ballot marking system that ensures voters with disabilities can cast an independent ballot.

COVID-19 has upended our elections. And we have called for legislators and election officials to lead the way to ensure the November election – and all elections in the future – can withstand public health emergencies and keep our democracy intact.  We won’t stop fighting to ensure free and fair for all.
