COLUMBUS– On October 07, 2024, All Voting is Local (All Voting), in partnership with Public Circle Research and Consulting (Public Circle), published the Election Workforce Report, highlighting the state of play for Ohio election administration and what it means for Ohio’s election workforce. Kayla Griffin, All Voting Ohio state director, and Dean W. Jackson, principal at Public Circle, released the following statement:
“We worked with Public Circle to identify trends in our election workforce. What we found is that our election officials are experiencing an immense amount of external pressure because of the lies and confusion spread about our elections by bad actors,” said Kayla Griffin, All Voting Is Local Ohio state director. “However, we also found that our election officials continue to run our elections freely and fairly, despite attacks on their trustworthiness, last-minute rule changes, and threats of political violence, because they believe in democracy.”
“We spoke with election officials from twenty (20) of Ohio’s counties, representing both political parties and counties of all sizes in every region of the state. Without exception, we found diligent public servants working hard, often with too few resources, to run elections smoothly and fairly,” said Dean Jackson of Public Circle. “At every turn, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the high level of security consistently applied to elections across Ohio. Unfortunately, election administration has been so thoroughly politicized that these officials are now struggling to respond to cynical efforts to disrupt and discredit their important work.”
