PHILADELPHIA — All Voting is Local Pennsylvania State Director Scott Seeborg issued the following statement in response to an anti-voter report released today by the Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus on the state of elections:
“Today’s report is another attempt by the Big Lie proponents in the Pennsylvania legislature to perpetuate disinformation about our elections. These lies have real-life consequences. They have helped fuel the refusal of three counties to certify election results more than a month after the state’s primary.
“Make no mistake: Fringe conspiracy theorists in Pennsylvania are making a concerted effort to subvert the will of voters. Pennsylvanians deserve elected officials who respect their votes, not ones who constantly try to strip away their freedoms at the ballot box.”
Background
The Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus released an anti-voter report lifting up disinformation and conspiracy theories about elections in the state. This comes at a time when anti-voter officials are using these same lies to degrade essential voting processes, like mail-in votes and the use of undated ballots. Three Pennsylvania counties are still refusing to certify election results more than a month after the state’s primary. Officials from these counties intentionally failed to include valid votes when they submitted their results.
Additionally, on Monday, a suspicious substance was sent to the Bucks County Board of Elections that was accompanied by a letter containing threatening language. Board of Elections Chair Bob Harvie said in a release: “Since the 2020 election, people in Bucks County have been misled by baseless and unfounded allegations and our Board of Election employees have been subjected to unprecedented hostility as a result.”
