TALLAHASSEE — All Voting is Local Action Florida and partners sent a letter today to Gov. Ron DeSantis, urging him to veto the recent anti-voter legislation Senate Bill 7050. This bill imposes harsh penalties and restrictions on third-party voter registration groups, further restricts access to vote-by-mail, and makes changes that make it easier for the state to arrest and prosecute voters rather than creating tools that will help people determine their eligibility to vote.

Instead of investing in any common-sense voting measures that increase access to the polls, Florida officials have instead been spending an egregious amount of money and resources on attempts to criminalize voting. If signed into law, this bill would continue to chip away at the voting rights of all Floridians under the guise of “election integrity.”

“As you have acknowledged, Florida elections are safe and secure. Election officials and the Florida Secretary of State agree. The provisions in this bill undermine our democracy and are unnecessary. On behalf of Florida citizens, we ask that you stand up for free, fair, and accessible elections and veto SB 7050,” the letter reads.
