PHILADELPHIA — All Voting is Local Action Pennsylvania’s State Director Nick Pressley issued the following statement in response to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ vote Wednesday to impeach Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner:
“Larry Krasner has been overwhelmingly elected by Philadelphia voters twice. This partisan effort to remove him from office sets a dangerous precedent that could lay the foundation to disenfranchise voters. State legislators cannot defy the will of voters in Philadelphia – days after Election Day – just because they disagree with the politics of certain municipal officials.
“This is a blatant attempt to silence the voices of tens of thousands of Philadelphians who freely and fairly elected him to office. The Pennsylvania Legislature must end this sham immediately and reject the impeachment of the Philadelphia District Attorney.”
