HOW TO CURE YOUR BALLOT WITH a phone call
| How can I cure my ballot with a phone call? | Call the Clark County Election Department to cure your ballot at 702-455-6552. You will be asked to answer three questions: the last four digits of your Social Security number, your place of birth, and your date of birth. If you answer only one or two of the questions and the answer(s) is/are correct, your ballot will be cured. If the official on the line can not confirm or finds a discrepancy in one of your answers, you can ask them to check against the form that you filled out with the county, to make sure there hasn’t been a data entry error (a 7 being entered as a 1, for example). |
HOW TO GET A SIGNATURE CURE AFFIDAVIT

USING ‘TEXT2CURE’ WITH YOUR SMARTPHONE
| What do I need to do to cure by text? | You will need a smartphone, the PIN number provided by the election department, and an ID you can take a photo of. Have the PIN number and ID ready and text “Nevada” to 28683. Follow the prompts on screen. Click on the secure web link, enter your PIN, upload a photo of your ID, and finger-sign on the screen. |

IS ID REQUIRED TO CURE A BALLOT?
| I don’t have an ID/can’t find my ID/can’t make a copy of my ID. | You do not have to use an ID to cure your ballot! Call the Clark County Election Department a t 702-455-6552. You will be asked to answer three questions: the last 4 digits of your Social Security number, your place of birth, and your date of birth. If you don’t want to call on the phone, you can fill out the Signature Cure Affidavit and the three challenge questions at the bottom of the affidavit page and return it by mail, email, in-person drop-off, or fax. |
ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION FOR USE IN BALLOT CURE
If you choose to use your ID, the full list of acceptable forms of ID is included on the signature cure affidavit sent to you by the election department.
These are the acceptable forms of ID:
- A valid Nevada driver’s license.
- A valid ID card issued by the Nevada DMV.
- A valid U.S. passport or passport card.
- A valid employee ID card with a photograph of the eligible elector issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. government or Nevada, or by any county, municipality, board, authority, or other political subdivision of Nevada.
- A valid pilot’s license issued by the Federal Aviation Administration or other authorized agency of the U.S. government.
- A valid U.S. military ID card with a photograph of the eligible elector.
- A valid veteran ID card issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Health Administration with a photograph of the eligible elector.
- A valid Medicare or Medicaid card issued by the U.S. Health Care Financing Administration.
- A certified copy of a birth certificate for the elector issued in the U.S.
- Certified documentation of naturalization.
- A valid student ID card with a photograph of the eligible elector issued by an institution of higher education in Nevada.
- A valid ID card issued by a federally recognized tribal government certifying tribal membership.
