She most recently served as the first-ever election security specialist for the Michigan Department of State, Bureau of Elections. In her role, she was dedicated to coordinating Michigan’s overall election security plan and working with state and federal partners to assess, train, and communicate with local election officials on election security best practices. 

Brown previously spent over 11 years working for state government. She started her career with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services with a technical background in managing, assessing, and auditing large-scale computer-based systems. A native of Michigander, Brown worked for years serving her local elections as a poll worker and also election co-chair for local precincts. She graduated with a B.A.A. in public relations from Central Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
