PHOENIX— In response to Monday’s reports of armed vigilante dropbox watchers seeking to intimidate voters in Maricopa County, All Voting Is Local’s Arizona State Director Alex Gulotta released the following statement:

“First and foremost, voter intimidation is illegal. Vigilante groups who violate the law and act to intimidate voters will be held accountable.

“All voters have the right and freedom to cast their ballots free of intimidation or fear of retaliation. Despite these voter intimidation squads’ attempts to use fear to dissuade voters, Arizonans have and will continue to cast their ballots courageously in this election. Voting in Arizona is safe and secure. For voters experiencing intimidation or in need of help at polling locations, call 866-OUR-VOTE, 888-VE-Y-VOTA for Spanish, or visit 866ourvote.org.
