WASHINGTON–All Voting is Local welcomed Shauntay Nelson as Wisconsin State Director. A longtime Wisconsinite, Nelson brings a deep background in local electoral issues.

“We are excited to have Shauntay join the All Voting is Local team as we expose and prevent actions that suppress the right to vote for Wisconsinites historically silenced at the ballot box,” said Hannah Fried, All Voting is Local National Campaign Director.  “Shauntay’s robust background in voting rights in Wisconsin is an asset to our team as we fight for a democracy where every voice is heard.”

Shauntay Nelson comes to All Voting is Local from Wisconsin Voices, where she has served as program manager and most recently, democracy director. As democracy director, Nelson led the Our Democracy Statewide coalition, overseeing pro-democracy advocacy strategy among Wisconsin progressive organizations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University, while also completing the African American Leadership Program.

Nelson is based in Milwaukee. She joins All Voting is Local’s team working on the ground in key states facing distinct assaults on voting rights: Arizona, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The All Voting is Local campaign works to remove barriers to the ballot well before Election Day. The campaign works directly with historically disenfranchised communities and partner organizations to advocate for policies and practices that make our voting system more fair and accessible so that all eligible voters can cast a ballot that counts.
