WHAT: On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at 10 a.m. EST, All Voting is Local Florida, and leading experts on early voting will host a telephone press briefing to discuss early voting in the age of COVID-19.

In the 2016 general election, early voting outpaced vote by mail and election day voting as the preferred method for casting a ballot. Now, as Florida remains one of the nation’s hot spots in the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s vital that Floridians have every opportunity to vote early. Advocates will discuss the critical role that federal funding will play to ensure counties are able to implement the 2020 general elections safely and in an accessible manner. Advocates will also discuss the history of early voting in Florida and identify counties that have existing early voting site disparities in historically disenfranchised marginalized communities.
