Distinguished historian, author and civil rights thought leader Carol Anderson will make appearances in Cleveland September 25 to discuss the impact of voter suppression on democracy.
Who:
Carol Anderson, who earned her Ph.D. in history from The Ohio State University, is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of African American Studies at Emory University and author of the New York Times bestseller, White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Nation’s Divide.
Her latest book, One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression is Destroying Our Democracy, released September 11, and will be the focus of her discussions in Cleveland. One Person, No Vote follows the story of government-dictated racial discrimination through the adoption of state voter suppression laws and explains how voter suppression works, from photo ID requirements to gerrymandering to poll closures.
