WHY: COVID-19 has necessitated multiple changes to Georgia’s voting landscape. This virtual town hall will help voters better understand how to take part in the upcoming primary elections. Panelists will provide insight into their latest interactions with the Secretary of State’s office, as well as speak to new and online activities, with an emphasis on the absentee ballot process, and highlight issues relevant to members of historically underrepresented and marginalized groups, especially youth, people of color, immigrants, and disabled members of Georgia’s population.
This town hall will be followed by a Spanish-language virtual town hall hosted by GALEO on May 11, 2020 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm via Facebook Live at facebook.com/GALEO.org.
