GREEN BAY, Wis. — Wisconsin Reps. Amaad Rivera-Wagner and Lee Snodgrass are joining several local voting rights organizations and local leaders to call on Brown County District Attorney David L. Lasee to present charges against Elon Musk at a Friday press conference. Recently, the Wisconsin Election Commission found that Elon Musk offering $1 million payments to voters during the 2025 state Supreme Court election was likely illegal. The commission referred a pair of voter complaints to Lasee’s office, which now has 40 days to decide whether to bring criminal charges.
Lasee notably questioned the legality of a get-out-the-vote campaign run by local grassroots organizations in 2024, while he has never brought action against Musk for telling voters he would pay them $1 million. Last year, hundreds of people rallied outside the KI Convention Center in Green Bay at Musk’s town hall in opposition to the million-dollar payments.
