CLEVELAND–On Tuesday, September 24, National Voter Registration Day, All Voting is Local, ACLU of Ohio, and the Midtown TechHive will call more than 800 Cuyahoga County voters at risk of being removed from the rolls and urge them to update their voter registrations.
Voting rights groups invited volunteers to call hundreds of voters whose registration has been flagged by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections because of inactivity.
In Ohio, citizens who go six years without voting and fail to respond to confirmation letters could be removed from the registration rolls. So far this year, Ohio has removed hundreds of thousands of voters from the rolls.
Earlier this month, voting rights groups launched a text campaign to urge more than 100,000 Ohioans to update their voter registrations to avoid being purged from the rolls.
