PHOENIX — Today, the Arizona Voting Rights Coalition hosted the Pro-Democracy People’s Hearing at the Arizona Capital to call for legislators to protect voters throughout the 56th Legislature.
Amanda Lugo, All Voting Is Local’s Grassroots Manager said,“Arizona voters deserve greater access to the ballot and stronger voter protections. Voting rights protections must be a priority for all legislators. We are calling on our elected officials to support pro-voter and pro-democracy policies this year and speak up against policies that create barriers to the ballot.”
Alex Alvarez, Progress Arizona’s Executive Director said, “ While anti-democracy politicians want to run a circus in the legislature, we’re here to remind them that every eligible voter has the right to be heard at the ballot box, regardless of where they live, their race, their language, disability, age, or income, and without threat of facing intimidation or barriers.”
