MILTON, Wisc. – In response to the City of Milton passing a resolution Tuesday night that provides support and protection to election workers, All Voting is Local Wisconsin State Director Sam Liebert released the following statement:

“We applaud Milton city officials for taking the necessary steps to protect their election workers this election season and beyond. This new resolution states that the city will hold accountable anyone threatening or harassing election workers ‘to the fullest extent of the law.’ This is a reassuring step forward in ensuring safety and security for election workers.

“Election workers are essential to our democracy, but in recent years they’ve faced an unprecedented amount of threats and harassment. Many have resigned since 2020 and taken with them the invaluable institutional knowledge of election administration. For our voting processes to run as smoothly as possible, we need more cities around the Badger State to step up to the plate with adequate support and protection of election staff.”
