CARSON CITY, Nev. In response to the breaking news from Politico confirming that Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford is investigating fake electors from the 2020 General Election, All Voting is Local Nevada State Director Kerry Durmick issued the following statement:

“We are extremely grateful to hear that Attorney General Ford is investigating the alleged fake electors who tried to subvert our state’s elections in 2020. Nevadans have a sacred right to vote and to have that vote counted. This must be protected and respected. Furthermore, our officials are expected to be trusted stewards and protectors of our democracy, and if it is found that any of them have undermined the sanctity of our elections, they should be held accountable for their actions.

“We trust that AG Ford will thoroughly investigate this matter and hold those who are found to have attempted to sabotage our elections accountable. It is also imperative that we maintain transparency and trust in our electoral system, thoroughly ensuring that the will of the people will always prevail. Together, we can strengthen the foundation of our democracy and maintain trust in our elections, and this is the first step in that direction.”

Background:
In December of 2020, in an alleged effort to sabotage the 2020 election, six officials, including a party chair, party official, former state attorney general, and Senate candidate, met in Carson City and casted an alternate slate of electors for Trump. Afterwards, it was reported that they eventually sent their electoral votes to D.C., hoping that their fellow party members in Congress would certify their fake slate on January 6, 2021.
