ARIZONA – Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed HB 2004, HB 2006, and HB 2007, three restrictive bills that would impose unnecessary voting regulations on Arizona voters. In response, Alex Gulotta, All Voting is Local Arizona’s State Director, issued the following statement:
“HB 2004, HB 2006, and HB 2007 are three bills that would have been detrimental to our voting rights in Arizona. We are deeply grateful to Governor Hobbs for vetoing these bills and rejecting efforts to hinder access to the ballot box, and thank her for her efforts in protecting our democracy.
“Rather than finding common-sense solutions that protect Arizonans’ fundamental right to vote, anti-voter extremists have been laser-focused on creating greater barriers to voting, undermining voter registration efforts, and sowing distrust and a lack of confidence in our democracy. Here at All Voting is Local Arizona, we are deeply committed to fighting back against attacks designed to suppress the vote, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside Governor Hobbs to ensure voters are able to make their voices heard.”
