CARSON CITY, NV. – On Monday, high school seniors will organize alongside All Voting is Local Action Nevada at the state capital to advocate for AB 246, a bill that will provide language accessibility at the ballot box, among other voting-related bills. The students are members of Upward Bound, a program of the University of Nevada, Reno that provides first-generation, low-income high school students with free college preparatory services and support.
The students will be introduced on the assembly floor and invited to sit with legislators to watch the floor session. They will also meet with the Deputy of Elections in the Secretary of State’s office and other legislators throughout the day.
