Multilingual voter education efforts will reach tens of thousands

RENO, Nev. — All Voting is Local Nevada today announced partnerships with the Asian Community Development Council, Nevada Native Vote Project, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, and United Way of Southern Nevada to create and distribute voting education materials for Nevadans throughout the state. The materials will share information about election deadlines and processes, voting options, and where to go for help or questions.

“As we get closer to Election Day, it is crucial that organizations work together to ensure Nevada voters are prepared and encouraged to cast their ballots.” said Kerry Durmick, All Voting is Local Nevada state director. “We’re reaching Nevadans in places that they wouldn’t typically find voting information while lifting up the work of these local organizations.”

The collaborative voting rights efforts will include:

  • The creation and distribution of an Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) voter guide in Tagalog, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Korean to reach more than 25,000 AAPI voters, through no-contact, door-to-door drop offs.
  • The creation of a Native Voter Access Network for Nevada Tribes and related organizations in order to increase the advocacy power of the 27 Tribes and colonies in Nevada.
  • The distribution of English and Spanish-language voter education materials through all licensed child care organizations in Southern Nevada, community events, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Outreach to Planned Parenthood patients through community events, Planned Parenthood clinics, and no-contact, door-to-door canvassing to provide information about voting deadlines and election changes.

All efforts supported by the partnerships will be nonpartisan and take place between mid-October and November 3. All Voting is Local Nevada also provides a free, downloadable voter guide at AllVotingisLocal.org/resources.
