WHAT: On Thursday, Jun 4, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. EST, voting rights experts and advocates from All Voting is Local, Georgia NAACP, Black Voters Matter, and the Black Male Voter Project, will host a telephone town hall to answer questions from voters on absentee ballots, polling places, deadlines, voting amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and the significance of voting in Black and Brown communities, ahead of Georgia’s June 9 primary election.
Georgia voters are being denied the right to vote privately, securely, and safely. Voters are not receiving the mailed ballots they requested, are not being informed of polling place changes in a timely or inclusive manner, and have reported a lack of sanitation procedures at polling places.
Advocates sent a letter to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and State Election Board members, urging them to fix ballot issues and polling place safety concerns before June 9. The letter can be found here.
