WILBERFORCE, OHIO–On Tuesday, September 24, National Voter Registration Day, voting rights organizations All Voting is Local and Campus Vote Project will join students at Central State University for a press event to announce a campaign to empower voters and remove obstacles to the ballot for students at Ohio’s two HBCUs, Central State and Wilberforce Universities. 

The new campaign, CSWU Votes, will aim to tackle findings revealed in the report, Needs Improvement: Barriers to the Ballot at Ohio’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities,  which examined 2018 election data from precincts that serve the two campuses and accounts from students to determine the scope of the problems. It includes recommendations for the universities and county election officials to tackle the problems.
