WASHINGTON — All Voting is Local welcomed Michael Krumholtz and Sarah Khan-Williamson as communications managers joining teams across AVL states. Krumholtz will manage communications work in Florida and Pennsylvania while Khan-Williamson will manage communications work in Ohio and Wisconsin.
“We’re thrilled to have Michael and Sarah join our team as we deepen our fight on the state level to remove barriers to the ballot,” said Hannah Fried, national campaign director for All Voting is Local. “They each bring robust communications experience to our work in this critical time. The fight for the right to vote is more urgent than ever and strategic communications is vital to our work to hold officials accountable to ensure all voices are heard.”
Krumholtz most recently worked in the communications department at the Latino civil rights group UnidosUS, where he worked closely with both the immigration and economic policy teams to lead such projects including a bilingual awareness campaign alerting Spanish speakers applying for citizenship about the application fee increase proposed by the Trump administration.
Krumholtz is a former journalist who spent years working throughout Latin America, including with The Associated Press in Mexico and The Tico Times, Costa Rica’s oldest English-language publication. In his stories, he routinely focused on human rights abuses and social justice issues. He holds a master’s degree from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Khan-Williamson most recently worked in the communications department at the ACLU of Ohio, where she served as a reproductive rights coalition liaison, managed the ACLU of Ohio Instagram account, coordinated the ACLU of Ohio speakers bureau, and planned and implemented communications strategies focused on civil liberties issues such as voting rights, death penalty repeal, bail reform, and racial justice.
Khan-Williamson holds an undergraduate degree from George Mason University and two graduate degrees from Harvard University and the University of Arizona. In 2019, she left academia to use her knowledge and expertise to serve others in the fight for social justice, race and gender equality, and conflict resolution.
